5) Huon, Phan Paht, CSsR The History Of The Catholic Church In Vietnam. Long Beach, California: Phan Paht Huon, CSsR, 2000.
"From the 17th century, in the society of Vietnam appeared two factions whose tendencies were entirely opposite. One faction consisted of those with relation to the feudal system: the kings, the mandarins and the political parites Van Than and Can Vuong. They were very proud of being Confucius scholars who had studied the classical Chinese philosophy. They had power in hand, and their way of life was just impractical: reciting poems, drinking tea, praising themselves the tops of the world. In the meantime, they never realized that the world around them had been changing into the new era of technology, politics, and economy. Representing this faction were the triad: Minh Many, Thieu Thi and Tu Duc; and the convservative Confucius scholar Nguyen Dinh Chieu, who in his book Duong Tu Ha Mau, opined to get rid of the Catholics so as to glorify the "orthodox religion". The other faction were people with liberal minds, progressive, who wished to reform the country as soon as possible before it was too late. Among these were Father Dang Duc Tuan, Nguyen Truong To, Petrus Truong Vinh Ky and a few Catholics, who had contacted with the civilization of other countries."

"It's the story that's never been told. In The Hidden Pope, author Darcy O'Brien offers the moving account of the extraordinary relationship of Karol Wojtyla and Jerzy Kluger-their boyhood in the small Polish town of Wadowice, their separation at the beginning of World War II, their individual experiences under Nazi and Soviet tyranny, and their reunion almost thirty years later that deepened their friendship and made a profound impact on the history of our time. Set in the perspective of monumental reconciliation between Christianity and Judaism, this is an inspiring, intimate portrait of John Paul II that describes him as only his closest friends know him and as no pope has ever been portrayed before. Readers will come to know the Holy Father as a man and to understand his most controversial ideas as expressions of his dramatic experience of life."

7) Rychlak, Ronald J. Hitler The War And The Pope. Columbus, Mississippi: Genesis Press, Inc., 2000.
"Perhaps no modern-day leader of the Roman Catholic Church has sparked as much controversy as Pope Pius XII, the Bishop of Rome during World War II. Was he a Nazi sympathizer? Or did he vehemently oppose Hitler's regime? The conflicting opinions about Pius XII's wartime performance indicate not only the complexities of the man, the former Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli, but also the difficulty in understanding the Hitler era and the inherent conflict between political posturing and pastoral actions. With exacting scholarship, Professor Ron Rychlak gives a full exploration of the background facts, including discussions of history, religion, politics, diplomacy, and military tactics. Then comes ten fundamental questions concerning Pope Pius XII and the Nazis which are answered with legal analysis and authoritative citation. The epilogue provides a critical examination of John Cornwell's recent book on the same topic, Hitler's Pope: The Secret History of Pius XII."

And now, published for the first time in English are Pope John Paul I's insights and lessons on: Faith, Hope, and Love, Never Losing Heart, The Role of Education in the Family and many more."
