1) A Father and Two Sons. New York, New York: American Bible Society, 1994. 10 min.
“A father’s relationship with his children is a timely topic for today’s youth. In this video, set on a contemporary horse ranch, the biblical story of a loving father is presented in stunning black and white images with an exciting blues vocal track performed by Rory Block. Here, a man’s younger son demands his share of the property form his father, and leaves to go into the world beyond the family farm. When he is crushed by the world, he decides to go home, although he does not know how he will be received. He is welcomed by his overjoyed father who immediately commands that a banquet be prepared to honor him. While in many version the “The Prodigal Son” parable ends here, A Father and Two Sons completes the biblical story by showing the father’s loving encounter with his older son who is reluctant to join in the celebration.”

2) All Nothing a Parable of Hope for the Earth. Los Angeles, California: Franciscan Communications. 12 min.
“With breathtaking animation by Frederic Back, world renown Canadian animator, this not-verbal film begins by depicting the days of creation in all their magnificence. We are drawn into the Garden where Adam and Eve, seemingly unaware of their own glory, desire to have the gifts of all the creatures around them. God in his goodness let’s them understand what it is like to be fish, animal, bird. But nothing satisfies them. They are always wanting more. Finally, God, tiring of their discontent and greed, leaves them to face themselves as they are—naked before his eyes. In anger they desert God as they and their descendants plunder the earth, making weapons of violence and death and exploiting nature’s resources only to adorn and satisfy themselves. It is as if God is dead to them. Finally a child, recognizing the cruelty and destruction around her, gives of herself to begin restoring nature. It is a first step toward rediscovering the beauty of creation and awaking God in the hearts of his people. For Frederic Back the message of All-Nothing reflects his life-long commitment to environment and humanitarian causes.”

23) The Visual Bible Matthew: Volume Two Chapters 9:2-14:36. Visual International, 1997. 58 min.
“Come share a time of parables and miracles, as Jesus’ ministry unfolds. With a question, a laugh, a warm embrace, He uses the commonplace details of daily life to unveil profound spiritual truths. Through a mustard seed or a pearl of great price…a thorny field or a measure of yeast, Jesus teaches a revolutionary concept of inner morality that brings increasing conflict with the religious establishment of His day. Walking the dusty roads and lush fields with Jesus, we reach a new understanding of His tenderness. We gain a fresh insight into the preparing of His disciples for their mission and ultimate persecution. The feeding of the 5000 reveals the compassion and warm humanity of Jesus as He responds to the needs of ordinary people. Relive the drama as the disciples see Jesus walking on the water…and Peter’s impulsive reaction. Feel the love and patience of Jesus when He reprimands him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?””

24) The Visual Bible Matthew: Volume Three Chapters 15:1-23:39. Visual International, 1997. 58 min.
“Jesus continues to heal the afflicted and teach his message of loving service to others. We share with His followers a growing recognition that this beloved friend and companion is, indeed, the long-awaited Messiah. The prediction of His own death and the glory of His transfiguration cause both wonder and devastation in the hearts of Jesus’ disciples. Alarmed at His growing popularity and outraged by his revolutionary message, the religious authorities question and attack Jesus at every turn. An angry Jesus cleanses the temple and a compassionate Jesus grieves over His own people. Feel the emotion when He weeps, “Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem...””

25) The Visual Bible Matthew: Volume Four Chapters 24:1-28:20. Visual International, 1997. 58 min.
“As Jesus’ ministry moves toward the ultimate purpose and climax, the conflict with the religious establishment deepens in the word-for-word account of the book of Matthew. Concerned about His huge following and furious about His radical concept of a heart-motivated faith over outward observance of the laws, they criticize and denounce Him continually. Against the ceremony and pageantry of First Century Jerusalem, Jesus’ final hours unfold with painful reality as actor Bruce Marchiano draws us into every vivid emotion. We join Him at the Last Supper and in the Garden of Gethsemane. Share the pain of Judas’ betrayal and Peter’s unforgettable denial…Stand at His side as He faces the might of Rome and the rejection of His own people. Richard Kiley, playing the role of Matthew, leads us through the events at Golgotha…as the anguish of the cross is transformed by the glory of the resurrection. This vivid portrayal of the of the Gospel of Matthew ends with Jesus’ last command and the promise… “surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.””
