Marriage Preparation Training Program

This program explores Catholic Christian beliefs about marriage, reflects on the everyday experience of married life in light of those beliefs, recognizes God’s work in the couple’s relationship, integrates information from the social sciences on healthy marriages and finds practical ways to deepen love and commitment in marriage relationships are part of the goals of the program. GOALS AND GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

"The preparation to the marriage, to the conjugal and family life, is of extreme importance for the good of the Church. In fact the sacrament of the marriage has great value for the whole Christian community and in the first place for the spouses, whose decision is so that the improvisation or hurried decisions cannot be left to”. (Pontifical Council for the Family)

Goals of the Program:

1. To offer a clear and sufficient vision of the preparation ministry to the sacrament of the catholic marriage in the parishes, reflecting its importance, thematic, resources and instruments to continue promoting the values of the marriage and the Christian family today.

2. To enable leaders (personal, spouses, parish teams) to develop a good preparation program to the sacrament of the catholic marriage in its parishes.

3. To update the theological and doctrine contents in the Diocesan Team of marriage preparation (Pre-Caná Team).

4. To offer this resource to the parishes that are looking to form a marriage preparation team or to have a team in their own parishes that can support this ministry.

Objectives of the program: The participants will be able:

1. To evaluate, to prepare and to develop a marriage preparation program to the ministry in its parish community in dialogue with priest y or the person in charge of family life issues.

2. To increase and demonstrate attitudes and abilities for the preparation to the Sacrament of Marriage in its parish.
